Over 250 Black & White Photographs
In the third part of this pictorial trilogy of the Taff Vale Railway, John Hutton examines a further selection of some of the 23 branch lines operated by the company. These include the Penarth branch with its continuation to Cadoxton, including Penarth Dock; the Ynysybwl branch to Abercynon; the Llancaiach and Pont Shon Norton branches from Pontypridd; the Llantrisant branch from Treforest and the Llantrisant No 1 branch to Waterhall Junction; the long vanished Common and Treferig branches; and the line from Llantrisant to Cowbridge and on to Aberthaw. There is also a brief look at some of the private sidings built to connect with TVR lines.
More than 250 photographs, maps and items of ephemera cover the TVR, GWR and BR eras, as well as present day photographs showing what can still be seen of this fascinating railway network.
