Christopher Dresser is now acknowledged to have been one of the most important designers of the nineteenth century and was an exact contemporary of William Morris. He is known to have supplied designs to at least sixty British manufacturers, including designs for metalwork, ceramics and glass and his name has been linked with the Watcombe Terracotta Company.
